A complete set of kitchen knives in a 9-slot beech wood block: chef's knife (8" blade), carving knife (8" blade), carving fork, bread knife (8" blade), serrated utility knife (5½" blade), paring knife (4½" blade), peeling knife (2½" blade), 9" honing steel, and kitchen shears. The precision forged blade, bolster, and tang are permanently bonded to an ergonomic, moulded slip-resistant handle to provide a contemporary look. Use the peeling and paring knives for paring, peeling, trimming, and dicing fruits and vegetables. The carving knife is used for carving hot or cold meats, turkeys, hams, and roasts, assisted by the carving fork. The chef's knife is used for cutting, chopping, slicing, and dicing fruits, vegetables, meat, and poultry. The bread knife's serrated edge slices effortlessly through crispy baguettes and crunchy bread. The serrated utility knife cuts easily through sausages without tearing the casings and is also excellent for slicing tomatoes, fresh rolls or bagels, or your favourite hard salami. The honing steel is essential for keeping your knives in top condition. The kitchen shears are an indispensable tool for snipping herbs, opening packages, and cutting twine.Wüsthof knives offer a harmonious blend of precision cutting performance, integrity of materials, safety, and comfort. The knives are hot-drop forged by hand from a single blank of high carbon no-stain steel, a specially alloyed surgical steel consisting of exacting proportions of carbon, chromium, molybdenum, and vanadium. The blades are perfectly tapered from bolster to tip, and from the back of the blades to the edges, and are honed by hand. Perfect balance is assured by an almost full extension of the tang through the length of the handle. Gapless bonding between the handle and the bolster prevents food particles from entering.
