I got these knives on sale, and since I'm not keen on "block" sets of knives, this was a perfect set to have for all the multiple purposes you might need them for in the kitchen. I already had a nice butcher knife, and a bread knife, so the set is perfect. I do cook a lot, and have found that if I touch them up before each use, they are perfect and work just fine.
