The Classic ?Mignon? knife features a distinctively curved, ultra-sharp blade for smooth-as-silk slicing through thick cuts of meat, such as filet mignon. Acclaimed for beautiful balance, heft, and a signature solid bolster, or finger guard, a Classic knife is precision forged from a single piece of high-carbon, stain-resistant steel for superior strength, and should last a lifetime.
Each of the eight knives in this set features a 4-1/2-inch blade that has been impeccably ground, tapered, and polished, with a non-serrated edge which makes resharpening easy. Traditional in look, a Classic knife is seamlessly constructed with a visible full tang triple-riveted into an ergonomically-shaped synthetic handle. The 8-by-11-by 2-inch storage case is slim enough not to require a handle and features reinforced corners, an elegant swing-arm clasp, eight molded slots for the knives, and a thick foam lid lining that keeps the knives compressed to prevent shifting. Though the knives are dishwasher-safe, Wusthof recommends hand-washing all fine cutlery.
