This starter set of wusthof classic knives combines five frequently used knives. The set includes a 4-Inch paring knife for peeling and slicing. A 8-Inch bread knife for slicing those crusty loaves of bread and a 8-Inch cooks knife for chopping and mincing, a 9-Inch carving knife for meats and melons and keep your knives in perfect conditions with a 9-Inch sharpening steel. The set makes a lasting and meaningful gift for newlyweds and chefs of all abilities. Wusthof classic knives are precision forged from a single-piece of exceptional quality German steel alloy. The edges of these knives are razor sharp using our laser guided peptic sharpening technology. Our exceptional quality German steel alloy is featured in all our quality knives. Our unique steel alloy is specially tempered to be durable as well as allowing for extended edge retention. As a result, wusthof knives are not too hard and brittle and can easily be given an edge in your own kitchen. The three components of each Wusthof knife--blade, bolster, and tang--are precision forged from a single piece of high-carbon, stain-resistant steel, resulting in superior strength. This five-piece cook?s set consists of a 3-inch parer, 6-inch utility, 8-inch cook?s knife, 9-inch carver, and 9-inch sharpening steel, all of which should last a lifetime.
Each knife features a blade that has been impeccably ground, tapered, and polished. The super-sharp edge is laser-tested for uniformity so that cutting, slicing, and paring take place with finesse. After repeated use, the edge may be easily resharpened using the tapered sharpening steel. Traditional in look, Classic knives are seamlessly constructed with a visible full tang triple-riveted into an ergonomically-shaped synthetic handle. Though the knives are dishwasher-safe, Wusthof recommends hand-washing all fine cutlery.
